Kipke Amendment Stops Welfare Cards from Being Accepted at Maryland CasinosSeptember 14, 2012
The Maryland Gazette called it the "only faint touch of sanity" when Delegate Kipke passed an amendment to gambling expansion legislation that prohibits Maryland casinos from accepting state issued welfare debit cards. Audits in other states exposed that welfare cash cards called "Independence Cards" were being used to gamble away tens of millions of dollars each year.

Delegate Nic Kipke hosted a volunteer effort to spruce up Lake Waterford Park in Pasadena. Over fifty volunteers participated in removing over one ton of trash, planting 5 native trees, mulching, restoring a rain garden, and more.
